Another day in beautiful Pohnpei. We worshipped at the church Nob pastors and I have to say, I felt right at home when Nob used a football story to illustrate a point (Nob says following football and basketball are great favorites among the Pohnpei men). After a lovely lunch with another great view we took a 'hike' to the top of a mountain to look at gun turrets left by the Japanese in WW II. We also finished the hike to the top where the view was breathtaking. Michelle and I (Lori) would like to make a special note of the extreme perseverance it took for us to make it UP the mountain and we have pictures to prove how far and steep it was. Caleb would like to add that a group of young Pohnpein boys snuck up on Caleb, Alex, Abigail, Kira, and Chelsea (Alex and Chelsea are Nob and Slyvia's kids)surrounding them with paint brushes and yelling. Then they scampered off. The kids first ambush.
This evening we enjoyed communion and then a pot-luck dinner in which we tried all the local favorites (no sashimi - kind of like sushi with tuna that we were told was good) and were suprised by boxes of take-out pizza - a piece of home that was appreciated.
We begin some work tomorrow, the girls will be helping with VBS preparation which happens the week after we leave, painting murals and helping with crafts. We also may teach children's Sunday School next Sunday. I'm not sure what the guys are doing tomorrow.
We are definately enjoying God's beautiful creation and the opportunity to meet very warm and friendly people. Please pray that we will be energized for the work God has for us (we're very tired) and we would have opportunities to build relationships with those who live here.

Hey Lori,
I missed our lunch today...I know you all are having lunches in Micronesia.:-) You all are in my prayers as you minister to the people the Lord brings across your path. These blogs are a great way to keep up on what is happening far away.
God Bless you.
Love, Lisa
Caleb and Team!!!
Sounds like you guys are jumping right into the swing of things. I have been praying for you guys for physical strength and guidance as you guys proclaim the "sparc" of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your father in heaven. Matt 5:16
Love you guys
Mike
